Chapter 3 - The Blueprint of Betrayal

Back in the home office, Lisa was no longer just defending herself; she was dissecting the anatomy of her own marriage.

Every single milestone of her relationship with Ryan—from their chance meeting at a charity gala in Washington D.C. to his romantic proposal under the glowing lights of a luxury resort—flashed through her mind like frames of a corrupted video file.

Nothing had been accidental.

Ryan hadn't fallen in love with her because of her warmth or her corporate success. He had targeted her because she was the brilliant, self-made founder of Apex Cyber-Defense, a rising tech firm holding federal infrastructure security contracts. Marrying her gave him legal proximity to enterprise-level financial systems, and more importantly, gave him access to a clean civilian identity to mask his family's illicit money-laundering operations.

She opened her corporate management portal, checking the admin privileges on her company's main server.

To her shock, a secondary administrator account had been created under her own name three months after their wedding—an account she had never authorized, granting full read-write access to corporate payroll and client trust accounts.

Before she could log the intrusion, the screen flickered. A chat window popped up in the bottom right corner of her primary monitor.

It wasn't an external hacker. It was an internal message pinging from the guest bedroom downstairs.

*Ryan:* “Give it up, Lisa. You think you’re so smart with your corporate spreadsheets, but you’re playing a game you don't understand. Mom and I built this network long before you ever wandered into our lives. Sign the asset transfer waiver on your desktop and we’ll let you keep your car. Otherwise, you’ll lose everything—including your little cybersecurity firm.”

Lisa stared at the glowing green text bubbles. A cold, bitter smile touched her lips.

She didn't type a word in response. Instead, she opened her webcam management utility, routed the feed directly to Marcus Vance’s secure terminal, and watched the remote log record Ryan’s exact IP address and physical location inside the house.

He thought he was intimidating her. He didn't know he was writing his own confession in real-time.
