Chapter 10 - The Unconquered Crown

The grand boardroom of the Romano estate was filled with the most powerful capos, financial advisors, and regional bosses of the syndicate. Fifty men and women in immaculate formal attire sat in absolute silence around the massive mahogany table as the heavy oak doors swung open.
Isabella Romano walked into the room.
She didn't wear a crown, and she didn't carry a weapon visible to the eye. But as she walked toward the head of the table, every single person in the room—veteran bosses who had survived decades of gang wars and corporate assassinations—stood up simultaneously in deep, reverent respect.
She pulled out the central chair and seated herself with absolute, unshakeable grace.
“Sit,” she commanded softly.
The fifty leaders obeyed instantly.
“For years, many of you wondered why I chose to live outside these walls, walking among the ordinary world,” Isabella began, her voice carrying clearly across the silent, cavernous room. “I wanted to see what the world looked like through the eyes of people who thought power could be bought, bullied, or stolen from those they deemed weak.”
She paused, letting her gaze sweep slowly across the room, resting on every leader.
“In the span of one month, I watched fools try to humiliate me, extort me, and hijack my family’s legacy. And what did they find? They found that a crown hidden in the shadows is still a crown. And the woman wearing it is never to be crossed.”
A low, unified murmur of agreement rippled through the boardroom.

Isabella placed her hands flat on the mahogany table, her eyes burning with an unyielding, brilliant fire.
“The era of hiding is over. The Romano family doesn't just survive in the shadows anymore—we rule the light. Let the world take notice.”
