Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Tide

"Guards!" Arthur shrieked, his voice cracking with panic as he waved his arms at the private security detail stationed around the perimeter. "Remove this woman! She's trespassing!"

Before the guards could take a single step forward, Aiden flipped open the leather briefcase, pulling out a thick stack of federal arrest warrants and international asset seizure orders stamped with supreme court seals.

"Don't touch her, gentlemen," Aiden announced loudly, holding up the documents for the assembled journalists and cameras to record. "Every single security detail, police officer, and federal marshal currently standing outside this building answers to the federal task force investigating Arthur Sterling for international terrorism, corporate assassinations, and maritime smuggling."

The flashbulbs erupted in a blinding, chaotic storm of white light. Reporters shoved forward, shouting questions over one another as Arthur backed away until his back hit the grand staircase.

"You think the law can touch me?!" Arthur snarled, his aristocratic composure completely shattering as he glared at Elena with venomous hatred. "I own this city! I own the courts! I own the ocean you crawled out of!"

"You don't own the ocean, Arthur," Elena said softly, stepping closer to him.

Suddenly, the massive glass dome ceiling of the Seattle Opera House groaned under an immense, unearthly pressure.

Outside, the wind began to howl with unnatural fury. The clear night sky instantly turned pitch black as a massive, swirling tempest materialized directly above the building, defying all laws of meteorology.

The ground beneath their feet began to tremble—a deep, resonant vibration that felt like the heartbeat of the earth itself.

Arthur fell to his knees, clutching his chest, staring up at Elena in abject terror as the blue diamond around her neck began to glow with a brilliant, blinding light.

"The sea doesn't belong to men who steal from it," Elena whispered, her voice echoing with the simultaneous roar of a thousand crashing waves. "It collects its debts."

With a final, sweeping gesture of her hand, a wave of dense, cool sea mist flooded the grand foyer, extinguishing the crystal chandeliers and plunging the opera house into darkness—leaving behind only the glowing amber eyes of the woman who had died twice, and returned to claim her world.
