Chapter 5 - Crowned in Blood, United in Love
Silence fell over the obsidian throne room as the tyrant's lifeless body hit the cold stone floor. The remaining guard captains dropped their weapons, falling to their knees in immediate submission to the true heir of the Whitemoon lineage. The predator empire that had terrorized the northern territories for twenty years was finally broken.
Several weeks later, the Warrenhold Estate had been completely restored, transformed into a magnificent palace of unity and peace. The succession war was officially over, and the rabbit-clan was no longer hunted prey, but a foundational pillar of the new, prosperous kingdom.
In the grand sunlit courtyard overlooking the snow-capped mountains, a magnificent coronation ceremony was underway.
Rourke stood at the altar, dressed in his royal Whitemoon regalia, the golden crown of his ancestors resting upon his brow. But as the heavy oak doors opened, all his attention shifted entirely to the woman walking down the aisle toward him.
Lyra wore a stunning white silk gown embroidered with silver thread, her silver-blonde hair adorned with a delicate tiara of winter flowers. Her amber eyes shone with unshed tears of pure joy.
As she reached the altar, Rourke took her hands in his, his tough, calloused fingers wrapping gently around hers. All the coldness, all the vengeance, and all the loneliness of his past had vanished, replaced by an overwhelming, eternal warmth.
"You said you were just a street orphan," Lyra whispered with a soft, teasing smile as the crowd watched in adoring silence. "Turns out, you were a king all along."
