Chapter 4 - The Fall of the Gold-Digger

Within an hour, Victoria’s designer luggage bags—dozens of them—were tossed unceremoniously onto the public sidewalk outside the estate’s golden gates by two grim-faced security guards. She stood among her expensive boxes, screaming threats into the empty air, but no luxury cars pulled up to rescue her, and no high-society friends answered her frantic phone calls. Word of the video had already begun leaking through confidential legal channels, and within hours, Victoria was a social pariah, completely cut off from the Vance family fortune by an airtight prenuptial agreement that explicitly voided all claims in the event of proven child abuse or criminal negligence.

Inside the mansion, the heavy, oppressive atmosphere that had choked the halls for months was gone. The dark velvet curtains were pulled back, allowing the golden rays of the afternoon sun to flood every room.

Lily and Noah sat happily in the living room playing with a new set of building blocks, their laughter ringing brightly against the high ceilings.

Jonathan sat on the plush sofa nearby, watching them with a profound sense of relief and quiet determination. He realized how close he had come to losing his children to the very monster he had welcomed into his home. Never again would he prioritize business over his family's safety.

Marcus Vance, Jonathan’s trusted chief legal counsel, stepped quietly into the room, holding a thick manila folder.

“The restraining orders have been filed, Jonathan,” Marcus reported quietly. “She won't be coming within five miles of this property ever again. And the preliminary custody filings are fully secured.”

“Good,” Jonathan said firmly, signing the final paperwork without hesitation. “Make sure the security protocols are doubled. My children will never be vulnerable in this home again.”
