Chapter 3 - The Unforgivable Evidence

Victoria stood frozen, her mouth opening and closing as she desperately searched for a lie to save herself. “Jonathan! Oh, thank goodness you’re home! The—the children wandered outside, and they were throwing a tantrum, and I was just trying to teach them a lesson about discipline—!”

“Shut your mouth,” Jonathan commanded. His voice was barely a whisper, yet it carried the crushing weight of an avalanche.

He carried the children inside the warm house, handing them gently to the head housekeeper, Mrs. Gable, with strict instructions to get them warm milk and blankets. Then, Jonathan walked back out onto the patio, towering over Victoria, who was now trembling visibly against the brick wall.

“You thought the cameras were off,” Jonathan said coldly, pulling his smartphone from his pocket and tapping the screen.

A high-definition video began to play instantly on the display, broadcasting the live and recorded footage from the back lawn cameras. Every cruel shove, every sarcastic remark, every tear shed by little Lily, and the final click of the heavy padlock echoed clearly across the patio.

Victoria lunged forward, trying to swat the phone from his hand. “Delete that! That’s out of context! You can’t prove—!”

Jonathan sidestepped her effortlessly, his eyes dead and merciless. “I don't need to prove anything to a court. The security system backs up directly to an off-site corporate server that you don't even have clearance to touch. Every single second of your abuse has been logged, archived, and timestamped.”

Victoria’s knees buckled. The sophisticated, untouchable socialite mask she wore had completely disintegrated, revealing a desperate, cornered fraud whose entire life of luxury had just come crashing down around her.

“Jonathan, please,” she begged, grabbing the lapels of his suit jacket. “We can talk about this! Think of our marriage! Think of what the tabloids will say!”

“Our marriage ended the moment you locked my children in a cage,” Jonathan replied, forcefully ripping her hands away from his jacket. He stepped back and pointed toward the front gates. “Pack your bags and get out of my house before I have you arrested for child endangerment and physical abuse.”
