Chapter 7 - Into the Lion’s Den

The infiltration of the Volkov compound was a masterpiece of synchronized violence and digital warfare.

While Lorenzo handled the external guard patrols with silenced, clinical efficiency, his daughters were already operating deep within the compound's digital and physical infrastructure.

Mia had overridden the internal security grid, locking all internal blast doors and trapping the Bratva reinforcements in the lower barracks. Meanwhile, Lily and Zoe had deployed a swarm of micro-drones through the ventilation shafts, dispensing non-lethal knockout gas into the primary guard quarters.

Lorenzo slipped through the heavy steel service doors of the underground level, stepping into the dimly lit hallway lined with reinforced concrete cells.

Ahead of him, two heavily armed Bratva enforcers stood guard outside a massive iron vault door.

Before Lorenzo could raise his rifle, two tiny darts hissed through the air from the shadows above. Both guards seized up instantly, their eyes rolling back as the fast-acting neurotoxin dropped them silently to the polished stone floor.

From the ceiling rafters, Maya dropped down gracefully, landing in a crouch beside the fallen guards, her tactical boots crunching softly on the frost.

"You're tracking too loud, Father," Maya whispered critically, checking her tablet. "Dmitri knows something is wrong. He's moving the target."

Lorenzo didn't waste time arguing. He raised his boot and kicked the heavy iron vault door off its hydraulic hinges with a single, brutal strike.

The door crashed inward, revealing a cold, stark interrogation room lit by a single swinging overhead bulb.

Tied to a metal chair in the center of the room was a woman with striking amber eyes and dark hair matching Maya's.

Elena Vance looked up, her face bruised and pale, her eyes widening in sheer disbelief as Lorenzo stepped through the broken door.
