Chapter 5 - Dawn of the Golden Dynasty

Three months later, the empire of Pyra Prime had undergone a miraculous renaissance.
The freezing volcanic wastes of the lower caldera had been warmed by channeled thermal vents, transforming the barren ash lands into fertile agricultural valleys where all dragon clans—regardless of their bloodline purity—lived in harmony and prosperity. The caste system was abolished, schools of arcane and physical mastery were opened to every citizen, and the fires of industry burned bright and clean.
In the center of the capital, the grand amphitheater had been renamed the Plaza of Unity.
Today was the coronation ceremony.
The morning sun broke over the eastern peaks, casting a brilliant, golden glow across the marble terraces. Thousands of citizens—from the highest lords to the humblest miners—filled the plaza, cheering wildly as the imperial procession approached.
Lyra Vane walked down the grand avenue. She no longer wore the battle-scarred obsidian armor of an insurgent. Instead, she wore a breathtaking gown of spun white silk embroidered with intricate threads of pure gold, her posture regal, her head held high, and her emerald-gold eyes radiating a warmth and compassion the empire had never known in its thousand-year history.
At the center dais waited the high elder of the council, holding the newly forged Crown of the Golden Sun—a magnificent circlet of platinum and glowing amber gems.
As Lyra knelt before the dais, the elder gently placed the crown upon her dark hair.
The moment the metal touched her brow, a magnificent burst of golden fire erupted from the plaza floor, shooting high into the stratosphere like a harmless, beautiful fireworks display. The sky turned a brilliant, shimmering shade of amber, signaling the official blessing of the ancient dragon spirits.
The crowd erupted into thunderous, deafening applause, chanting her name across the valley.
"Long live Queen Lyra! Long live the Golden Sovereign!"

Lyra stood up, turning to face her people with a radiant, genuine smile. She raised her scepter, and a soft, warm breeze swept through the plaza, carrying the scent of spring blossoms over the formerly frozen peaks.
She had been abandoned, hunted, and left for dead in the dark. But she hadn't broken. She had simply let the fire forge her into something unbreakable. The powerless orphan had awakened the golden blood, burned away the corrupt past, and risen as the most powerful Dragon Queen the world had ever seen—securing a happily-ever-after built on strength, justice, and eternal love.
