Chapter 4 - The Corporate Execution**

Agnes tried to regain her footing, puffing out her chest with a pathetic display of desperate bravado. "You can't do anything! This house is owned by Leo! Leo pays for everything here! We are his family—"

"Leo owns nothing," Marcus interrupted smoothly, pulling a thick leather portfolio from his breast pocket and flipping it open. "Let me educate you on the reality of your luxurious little suburban parasite colony, Agnes. For the past four years, Leo’s entire executive salary, stock options, and bonuses haven't been deposited into his personal account. They have been funneled directly through a primary family trust fund—a trust fund that I happen to own, manage, and finance."

Color vanished from Agnes’s face a second time, leaving her looking remarkably ancient and frail.

"Every mortgage payment on this house," Marcus continued, pacing slowly toward her like a predator inspecting trapped prey, "every car note on Chloe’s luxury sedan, every single designer bag, grocery bill, and vacation you've taken while forcing my sister-in-law to crawl on the kitchen floor... was funded entirely by my capital. And as of 8:00 AM this morning, when I reviewed the security footage and medical reports forwarded to my legal team by the hospital... I formally revoked every single line of credit, frozen all asset transfers, and initiated immediate foreclosure proceedings on this property."

Chloe let out a strangled, high-pitched scream. "Foreclosure?! You can't kick us out! Where are we going to live?!"

"That is no longer my concern, nor is it Sarah's," Marcus said coldly. "Furthermore, the local district attorney’s office has already received copies of the hallway security camera footage capturing Agnes assaulting a recovering surgery patient with a deadly weapon. Felony assault, reckless endangerment, and severe domestic abuse charges are currently being processed. The sheriff's deputies are waiting at the end of the driveway right now."

On cue, the heavy thud of heavy boots echoed on the front porch as two uniformed county sheriff deputies pushed the front door open, stepping into the foyer.

Agnes collapsed heavily onto the kitchen floor, clutching her head and wailing as the reality of her total destruction crashed down around her. All her arrogance, all her entitlement, all her cruel domestic tyranny had evaporated into thin air, leaving behind a terrified, small-minded woman who had finally run out of victims.

I walked slowly down the stairs twenty minutes later, my two suitcases rolling smoothly behind me. I didn't look at Agnes weeping on the linoleum. I didn't look at Chloe sitting paralyzed in shock on the sofa.

Marcus was waiting at the front door. He took my bags effortlessly, his expression warm and fiercely protective.

As we stepped out onto the porch, a sleek black town car sat idling in the driveway. And standing beside it, pale, shaking, and utterly devastated, was Leo.

He had caught the first flight back from Tokyo as soon as Marcus intercepted his phone call and informed him of what his mother and sister had done while he was away.

"Sarah..." Leo choked out, taking a step toward me, his eyes filled with agonizing regret and shock. "Please... I didn't know. I swear to God, I had no idea they were treating you like this..."

I stopped, looking at the man I had loved and defended for years. The man who had been too blind, too busy, or too cowardly to see the monsters living under his own roof.

"I know you didn't know, Leo," I said quietly, my voice steady and unyielding. "And that is exactly why we are done."
