Chapter 4 - The Boardroom Justice**

Emily walked to the center of the mahogany room with a quiet, devastating grace that commanded absolute obedience. At nineteen, she possessed the fierce, unyielding intelligence of her father combined with the iron resolve of a true survivor.
“You thought if you burned the wig, you burned me, Vanessa,” Emily said, her voice clear, steady, and echoing off the walls.
Vanessa tried to recover her venom, her voice trembling with synthetic fury. “You ungrateful little brat! You’re unstable! You’re sick! Look at you—you’re a bald, hysterical child trying to play CEO! Marcus, call the police! Have her committed!”
Marcus didn't move. He was already packing his briefcase, realizing he had tied his professional wagon to a sinking ship of criminal fraud and federal felony charges.
I stepped forward, holding the genetic verification scanner toward Emily. “Are you ready, Emily?”
“Always, Uncle Arthur,” she replied firmly.
Maria stepped up with a sterile medical swab, gently touching it to Emily’s scalp to read the unique genetic pigmentation marker embedded in her DNA profile—the exact biological signature registered in the corporate vault sixteen years ago.
Maria inserted the swab into the portable verification terminal.
The machine beeped once. A green light flashed brightly across the screen.
*GENETIC MATCH CONFIRMED: 99.98% PRIMARY BENEFICIARY. VANCE HOLDINGS CONTROL TRANSFERRED TO EMILY VANCE.*
The digital chime echoed through the penthouse like a death knell for Vanessa’s criminal empire.
One of the senior board directors stepped forward, removing a heavy gold key card from his pocket and placing it directly into Emily’s outstretched palm. “Welcome home, Madam Chairwoman. We have been waiting for you.”
Vanessa let out a strangled, animalistic cry of rage. She lunged forward like a striking viper, aiming her fingernails directly at Emily’s face. “You won't take everything from me! I built this life! I own you!”
Before Vanessa could take two steps, the two federal marshals stepped out of the shadows. With swift, practiced precision, cold steel handcuffs snapped around Vanessa’s wrists, pinning her arms behind her back as she shrieked obscenities that shattered the pristine elegance of the penthouse.
“Vanessa Vance,” the lead marshal announced formally, “you are under arrest for corporate embezzlement, mail fraud, domestic abuse, arson, and conspiracy to commit identity fraud against a federally protected beneficiary.”

As Vanessa was dragged kicking and screaming out of the study—her designer heels clicking desperately against the floor one last time—the heavy oak doors slammed shut behind her, sealing her fate forever.
