Chapter 3 - The Expulsion in the Rain**

The music in the ballroom was abruptly cut short when the massive mahogany doors swung open with a resounding bang. Two dozen private security guards marched into the room in precise unison, their dark uniforms and impassive faces instantly freezing the champagne-drinking crowd in their tracks.

Gasps echoed through the room as the guards formed a wide, unyielding corridor leading straight from the center of the dance floor to the side exit.

Clara dropped her champagne flute, the crystal shattering against the imported marble floor with a sharp crack. "What is the meaning of this?!" she shrieked, stepping forward. "Have you all lost your minds? This is a private party!"

From the top of the grand staircase, Gideon Kessler descended. He did not run, nor did he raise his voice, but the sheer, crushing weight of his presence commanded absolute silence across the entire two-hundred-person room. Every eye locked onto him as he stopped halfway down the steps, towering over the terrified crowd.

"Evelyn Sterling," Gideon called out, his voice cutting through the quiet like a razor blade. "Step forward."

Evelyn turned pale beneath her expensive spray tan. She forced an awkward, trembling laugh. "Gideon, darling, what a dreadful joke. If this is about the little accident with the juice earlier, I already apologized to the housekeeper—"

"You didn't trip," Gideon interrupted, each word dripping with lethal ice. "You conspired with a corrupt staff member to infiltrate my home, target a six-year-old child, and inflict intentional emotional distress. And Clara—you financed the logistics of it."

Murmurs of shock rippled through the ballroom guests. Clara’s face drained of all color. "That’s a lie! You can't prove—!"

"I have audio recordings of your conversation from twenty minutes ago," Gideon stated flatly, cutting her off. "I have bank records showing Evelyn’s husband's company is three days away from total insolvency. And I have federal fraud investigators already reviewing your personal trust accounts, Clara."

He raised his hand slightly, signaling the security team.

"Get them out of my house," Gideon ordered. "Now."

Four guards converged on Evelyn and Clara instantly. Evelyn screamed as her arm was gripped firmly, her designer heels clicking frantically against the floor as she was dragged backward toward the service exit. Clara thrashed and shouted empty threats about family lawyers and social boycotts, but the guards did not relent. They hauled the two women out into the freezing, pouring rain, slamming the heavy wooden service doors shut behind them with a finality that echoed in the marrow of every guest present.

Gideon looked down at the remaining two hundred socialites, who now stood paralyzed with terror, realizing that crossing the Kessler family meant instant, total destruction.

"The party is over," Gideon announced quietly. "Get out of my home."

Within three minutes, the ballroom was entirely empty.
