Chapter 4 - The Fall of the Traitors

Saturday night arrived with the suffocating weight of a summer thunderstorm. The Corvino estate was quiet, save for the muffled sounds of music playing from the ground-floor parlor where Dominic and Arya were hosting a private dinner party with their closest co-conspirators—the corrupt union bosses and rival lieutenants who had financed the coup.
In the master bedroom, Vincent sat upright in his custom motorized wheelchair, a piece of engineering marvel Tessa had quietly had shipped in and assembled three days prior. For the first time in six months, he wasn't trapped in bed. He was strapped securely into the tactical chair, his broad shoulders squared, dressed in a tailored black suit that fit his powerful upper frame to perfection.
Tessa stood beside him, dressed in a sleek tactical undersuit beneath her uniform jacket, checking the magazine of a silenced sidearm with absolute professional calm.
"The perimeter is secured," Tessa whispered into her comms unit. "Federal strike teams are stationed at all four exit gates. Local police have cordoned off the access roads. Nobody gets out."
"Execute," Vincent commanded softly.
Clack.
Suddenly, every television, speaker, and intercom screen throughout the entire mansion flickered violently before cutting to a live high-definition broadcast feed. Down in the grand parlor, the laughter and clinking of champagne glasses died instantly as the surround-sound speakers boomed with crystal clarity.
On the massive home theater screen, audio recordings began playing on a continuous loop—crystal-clear phone intercepts of Dominic discussing the assassination hit on Vincent, Arya gloating about stealing his assets, and detailed financial wire transfers moving stolen syndicate millions into their offshore Swiss accounts.
Panic erupted in the parlor.
"What is this?! Turn it off! Turn it off!" Dominic shrieked, scrambling toward the media console as his corrupt associates backed away from him in sudden, terrified realization.
Before Dominic could rip the wires from the wall, the heavy double doors of the parlor blew open with a deafening crash. Federal tactical agents in heavy black armor swarmed the room, automatic weapons raised, screaming orders to get on the floor.
At the exact same moment, the private elevator at the end of the second-floor hallway chimed softly.
Dominic, dragged into handcuffs by two federal agents, was hauled up the grand staircase and thrown violently onto the marble floor of the upstairs landing. Arya followed right behind him, sobbing hysterically, her designer dress stained with spilled champagne, her hair disheveled.
"What is the meaning of this?! You can't do this! I demand my lawyer!" Dominic roared, thrashing against the zip-ties as federal agents forced him down.
The elevator doors slid open.
Vincent rolled out smoothly into the hallway, flanked by two armed federal marshals. He looked down from the landing like an ancient emperor gazing upon condemned peasants. His dark eyes were cold, dead, and utterly merciless.
Arya gasped, her breath catching in her throat as she stared at him in sheer horror. "Vince?! How... how are you out of bed? How did you—"
"You thought because I couldn't use my legs, I couldn't destroy you?" Vincent’s voice cut through the hallway like a razor-sharp blade. He rolled his chair forward until he stopped right at the edge of the top step, looking down at the two miserable traitors who had tried to bury him.

Dominic glared up with pure venom. "You're a cripple! You're nothing without us! You can't touch us!"
Vincent tilted his head slightly, a dark, chilling smile touching his lips. "I may not be able to walk, Dominic. But I own the judges, the federal task force, and every single brick of this city. And my nurse—Special Agent Vance—just delivered your death warrants."
