Chapter 9 - The Billionaire's Retaliation

The transition from a composed corporate executive to a lethal physical threat happened in less than a second.
Marcus stepped inside the intruder’s guard, bypassing the man’s attempt to reach for his concealed weapon with terrifying efficiency. With a brutal, cracking impact, the heel of Marcus’s palm slammed upward into the man’s chin, snapping his head back and sending him staggering backward into the bulkhead.
Before the second intruder could draw his own weapon, Bronson—the massive security guard—tackled him mid-stride, driving him hard against the galley wall with a deafening crash that shook the overhead oxygen masks loose.
"Get down! Everybody stay in your seats!" Bronson roared, pinning the second man to the floor with a knee pressed hard into his chest, deftly relieving him of a heavy-duty stun baton and a 9mm pistol.
The scarred man shook his head, trying to clear the haze, spitting a mouthful of blood onto the pristine white carpet of first class. He glared at Marcus with murderous rage, his hand finally managing to slip beneath his windbreaker toward his gun.
"You have no idea who you're messing with," the intruder snarled, his fingers curling around the grip of the firearm. "We represent powerful people. That debt—"
Marcus didn't let him finish. He stepped forward, grabbed the man by the collar of his windbreaker with both hands, and slammed him against the cabin wall so hard the entire aircraft frame shuddered.
"Listen to me very carefully," Marcus whispered, his voice carrying a dark, chilling menace that made even me shiver from across the aisle. "You are on a private-registry transatlantic aircraft leased by Vance Global. You are currently in international airspace, three hundred miles off the coast of Ireland. The federal marshals are already being patched through via encrypted satellite link to meet us at Fiumicino Airport."
The intruder’s eyes widened in sudden, stark terror as he realized the magnitude of his mistake. He hadn't just tracked a runaway teenager; he had walked straight into a trap set by a man who owned governments.
"You touch a single hair on that girl or her sister again," Marcus continued, his face inches from the man's terrified eyes, "and you won't make it out of a maximum-security prison for the rest of your natural life. Do you understand me?"
The scarred man swallowed hard, his bravado entirely evaporated, and gave a faint, terrified nod.
Bronson efficiently slapped heavy-duty plastic zip-ties around both men's wrists, dragging them unceremoniously into the forward galley and locking the partition door behind them.
Within thirty seconds, absolute silence returned to the first-class cabin, save for the hum of the engines and the soft, steady breathing of Maya, who hadn't even woken up through the entire altercation.

Marcus straightened his suit jacket, smoothed his cuffs, and exhaled a slow, controlled breath. Then, he turned around and walked slowly down the aisle toward our suite.
