Chapter 4 - The Grand Gala Ambush and the Fall of Julian Vance

The annual Seattle Metropolitan Architectural and Philanthropic Gala was the most exclusive social event of the season, a glittering gathering of high-society elites, politicians, and billionaires held in the grand ballroom of the historic Grand Meridian Hotel. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, champagne flowed freely from towering ice sculptures, and string quartets played classical masterpieces against the hum of powerful networking.
Julian Vance stood near the center of the ballroom, draped in a custom midnight-blue tuxedo, holding a crystal flute of vintage champagne while accepting congratulations from the city mayor and several prominent real estate investors. Julian looked like the picture of success—charming, charismatic, and entirely untouchable.
“To the future of Seattle real estate,” Julian toasted smoothly, raising his glass with a confident smile. “With the final signatures on the downtown waterfront contract tonight, Vance Enterprises will secure its absolute dominance over the Pacific Northwest for the next thirty years.”
Just then, the ballroom’s massive security doors at the far end of the hall suddenly burst open with a deafening crash.
A collective gasp swept through the hundreds of elite guests.
The string quartet stopped playing instantly. All heads turned toward the entrance.
Walking down the grand center aisle wasn't a late-arriving VIP or a political dignitary. It was an army of twenty hardened bikers wearing heavy leather cuts emblazoned with the Iron Skulls insignia, led by Tank Morrison. Tank walked with the slow, deliberate stride of an executioner, his face carved from cold stone, his heavy boots echoing off the polished marble floor like drumbeats of doom.
Security guards rushed forward from the perimeter, shouting frantically. “Stop right there! This is a private, invitation-only event! Turn around or we will—!”
Before the lead guard could finish his sentence, Bull stepped forward and delivered a single, devastating right hook that sent the guard flying across a cocktail table, crashing into a stack of crystal champagne flutes. The rest of the Iron Skulls formed an impenetrable human wall, sealing off every exit in the ballroom.
Julian Vance’s face drained of all color. The crystal champagne flute slipped from his trembling fingers, shattering against the marble floor with a sharp, explosive pop. He recognized those tattoos. He recognized that terrifying glare. He thought he had buried that nightmare ten years ago.
“Tank... Morrison,” Julian stammered, backing away until his spine hit the edge of the dais. “What... what is the meaning of this? You cannot simply barge in here! Security! Call the police!”
Tank stopped ten feet away from the terrified corporate tycoon. He reached into his leather vest, pulled out a heavy steel flash drive, and tossed it casually onto the white linen cloth of the central buffet table.
“You can stop screaming for the cops, Julian,” Tank said, his deep, gravelly voice carrying effortlessly across the silent, terrified ballroom. “Because the feds are already raiding your downtown warehouses, your offshore bank accounts have just been frozen, and every single victim you tried to erase is currently sitting safely under twenty-four-hour armed guard.”
Panic erupted among the elite guests. City council members and wealthy investors began shouting, grabbing their coats, and scrambling toward the doors, only to find the Iron Skulls standing firm like statues of iron.
“You’re lying!” Julian shrieked hysterically, sweat pouring down his pale face. “You have no proof! I am a pillar of this community! You’re just a lowlife criminal!”
“Am I?” Tank stepped forward, his massive frame towering over Julian. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, framed photograph—a picture of little Milo smiling bravely in his hospital bed, holding a small toy motorcycle Tank had bought him that morning. Tank shoved the photograph directly into Julian’s chest.
“That is my nephew, Julian,” Tank whispered, his voice dropping into a lethal, venomous register that made the entire room freeze in terror. “The little boy you locked in a freezing chest freezer to cover up your filthy crimes. You thought you could destroy my family. But you just woke up a sleeping giant.”
Before Julian could scream or run, Spike stepped out from behind the bikers carrying a heavy-duty portable broadcast transmitter. With a few quick keystrokes, the massive projection screens above the ballroom stage—which were supposed to display the new corporate development blueprints—suddenly flickered, turning pitch black before flashing a massive, unedited directory of audio confessions, financial ledgers, and video evidence proving Julian Vance’s entire criminal empire.
The horrifying truth echoed across the massive hall for every elite guest, reporter, and investor to witness.
Sirens wailed outside the grand hotel, growing louder and closer by the second. Heavy federal tactical units swarmed the lobby doors, pushing past the terrified guests straight toward the dais.
Lead federal investigator Agent Miller stepped forward, flashing a gold badge directly in front of Julian’s trembling face. “Julian Vance, you are hereby placed under arrest for human trafficking, racketeering, financial fraud, and the attempted murder of a minor.”
The federal marshals grabbed Julian by the arms, slapping heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists and dragging him backward past the stunned crowd of elites. Julian wailed and thrashed, but his multi-billion-dollar empire had completely vanished in a matter of minutes.

Tank stood motionless, watching the disgraced corporate monster get hauled away like common trash. The war was over. Justice had finally been served.
