Chapter 3 - The Secret Ledger and the Corporate Monster

Dawn broke over the industrial district of Seattle, casting long, gray shadows across the wet asphalt. Inside the dim, smoky back room of the Iron Skulls motorcycle clubhouse—a sprawling, fortified compound hidden behind an auto salvage yard—twelve senior members of the club sat in absolute, heavy silence around a massive oak conference table.

At the head of the table sat Tank Morrison. His face was carved from granite, his eyes cold and dark as midnight. On the table before him lay two items: a battered leather children’s backpack recovered from the abandoned rental property, and a heavy, encrypted flash drive he had pulled from a hidden wall compartment inside the garage.

“Explain to me why we’re looking at a kid’s school bag, Tank,” growled Bull, the club’s massive, bearded sergeant-at-arms, breaking the tense silence. “Word on the street is the feds are sniffing around the east side because of some high-speed stunt you pulled on the freeway last night. We don't need heat right now.”

“The kid isn't just some random stray, Bull,” Tank said, his voice terrifyingly calm, carrying a weight that made every veteran biker in the room sit up straight. “That boy is Milo. My nephew. The son of my sister Sarah, who disappeared a decade ago.”

A collective gasp rippled around the table. Every man in the room knew the legend of Sarah Morrison. They knew how she had married corporate golden boy Julian Vance—a wealthy real estate developer and philanthropist—and how she had mysteriously vanished off the face of the earth shortly after giving birth to her son, with Julian claiming she had abandoned them both and fled the country.

“Julian Vance,” Tank continued, sliding a thick printed dossier across the table. “For ten years, that piece of garbage played the grieving husband while secretly running an underground human trafficking and debt-peonage ring using repossessed commercial properties across the state. Sarah didn't run away. She found out what he was doing, and when she threatened to expose him, his corporate security detail silenced her permanently.”

Bull picked up the dossier, flipping through the pages of corporate shell companies, offshore bank accounts, and illegal mortgage fraud. His face hardened into a mask of pure disgust. “The son of a bitch used real estate holdings as a front to stash victims.”

“And last night, they tried to bury my nephew in a chest freezer because Milo stumbled onto a ledger containing names of high-society buyers,” Tank stated, standing up slowly and placing both palms flat on the oak table. “Julian Vance thinks he’s untouchable. He thinks he’s protected by high-priced lawyers, corrupt politicians, and fancy country club memberships. But he forgot one fundamental rule of the streets.”

Tank’s dark eyes swept across his brothers. “You don't touch family.”

“What’s the play, Boss?” asked Spike, the club’s tech specialist, spinning a hunting knife between his calloused fingers.

“We don't call the cops. The cops are tied into city hall, and city hall is in Vance’s pocket,” Tank commanded with absolute authority. “We hit them where it hurts. Tonight, Julian Vance is hosting a multi-million-dollar charity gala at the Grand Meridian Hotel to celebrate his new downtown waterfront development contract. That’s where he launders his dirty money, and that’s where we are going to collect our debt.”

“Consider it done,” Bull grunted, cracking his massive knuckles with a grim smile. “What about the flash drive?”

“Spike decrypted it this morning,” Tank said, a dark, dangerous grin touching the corner of his lips. “It contains every single bank transfer, victim manifest, and blackmail recording linking Julian Vance to the international syndicate. Once we crash his party tonight, we’re going to broadcast his entire criminal empire across every digital billboard in the city.”

The brothers rose as one man, the low rumble of agreement echoing through the clubhouse. The war was on, and Julian Vance had no idea what was speeding down the highway toward him.
