Chapter 5 - The Sunrise After the Storm**

The morning sun rose over Lake Michigan, painting the autumn sky in brilliant shades of gold, amber, and rose. The storm had completely blown over, leaving the streets of Chicago sparkling clean and washed in brilliant morning light.
Inside a private, sunlit recovery suite at Mercy Hospital, the room was filled with the soft, sweet scent of baby powder and fresh white lilies.
Waverly sat propped up against a stack of fluffy white pillows, wearing a soft pink hospital gown, looking radiant and completely at peace. Cradled gently against her chest was a tiny, perfect newborn baby girl with a full head of dark hair and miniature fingers wrapped tightly around Waverly’s thumb.
The door swung open quietly, and four exhausted, smiling men walked in.
Pierce carried a massive tray of toasted bagels, hot coffee, and fresh fruit from the South Side bakery they had grown up near. Marshall held a giant pink teddy bear that took up half his torso, while Devlin and Brody carried colorful balloons that bumped softly against the ceiling.
"Look at her," Brody whispered, his voice thick with emotion as he gently brushed a finger against the baby’s soft cheek. "She’s got our mom’s nose. I swear to God, she looks just like the drawing I did on the bedroom wall."
Waverly laughed, her eyes shining with unshed tears of pure joy. "She looks like herself, Brody. She looks free."
Pierce walked over, leaning down to press a warm, gentle kiss to the top of his sister’s head before carefully lifting his niece into his arms with practiced, comforting ease. "How are you feeling, little wave?"
"I feel like I finally woke up from a very long nightmare," Waverly answered softly, watching her oldest brother gaze down at the baby with absolute devotion.
"Well, you never have to worry about monsters under the bed again," Marshall said, crossing his arms with a satisfied grin. "Federal marshals raided the Gold Coast mansion at 5:00 a.m. Harrison Beckett is currently sitting in a maximum-security holding cell, facing forty federal counts of racketeering, tax evasion, and wire fraud. Genevieve packed her bags and fled to Wisconsin before the sirens even stopped, and your name is the sole legal owner of every single penny that man ever touched."
Waverly shook her head in quiet wonder. She looked around the hospital room at her four brothers—the men who had stood beside her through every heartbreak, every triumph, and every storm, dropping everything the moment she needed them.
"You didn't have to tear down an entire empire for me," Waverly murmured, though a playful smile danced on her lips.

"We didn't tear down an empire, sis," Pierce replied, his eyes locking onto hers with fierce, unconditional love as he rocked the baby gently in his arms. "We just took back what was always yours. Welcome home."
Outside the hospital window, the Chicago skyline stretched out limitless and bright, a brand-new horizon where no storm could ever reach them again.
