Chapter 4 - The Confrontation in the Parlor

"What is the meaning of this?!" Justin barked, marching down the steps while glaring at Samuel, before his eyes finally landed on me standing in my faded coat and sensible shoes. A harsh, mocking laugh escaped his lips. "Are you kidding me? You brought the cleaning lady back? Did she forget her feather duster, Samuel? Because she was fired three days ago, and she has no business being on private property!"

Samuel didn't flinch. He calmly unlatched his leather briefcase, pulled out a thick stack of embossed legal documents bearing the county seal, and stepped forward. "Actually, Justin, she has every right to be here. In fact, she has more right to this property than you do."

Justin’s smile vanished, replaced by a dark, furious scowl. "What are you talking about? My father's estate passes to me automatically. I am the sole blood heir!"

"You were the sole heir," Samuel corrected him smoothly, handing the top document directly to Justin. "Until you violated Section 4, Paragraph B of the amended Christopher Family Trust. Specifically, the clause protecting loyal household staff from wrongful termination and mistreatment."

Justin snatched the paper, his eyes scanning the dense legal text. As he read the lines detailing the forfeiture of assets due to malicious employment termination and public degradation, all the color drained rapidly from his face. His hands began to shake violently, the papers fluttering against his expensive trousers. "This... this is a fake! My father would never leave his estate to a servant! You forged this!"

"The documents are fully registered with the state Supreme Court, verified by three independent witnesses, and accompanied by video and audio logs of your conduct toward Mrs. Helena over the last seventy-two hours," one of the police officers stepped forward to say, resting a hand calmly on his utility belt.

Panic seized Justin entirely. He dropped his sophisticated corporate facade, lunging forward with a desperate, pathetic snarl. "You old witch!" he screamed, pointing a shaking finger directly at my face. "You manipulated him! You poisoned him against me! I'll ruin you! I'll sue you into the ground!"

"You won't be suing anyone, Mr. Vale," Samuel said coldly, signaling the officers. "Furthermore, the financial audit we initiated this morning shows that you already embezzled forty thousand dollars from the maintenance accounts prior to probate settlement. These officers are here to escort you off the premises. You have precisely twenty minutes to pack your personal belongings and leave."
