THE WEAKEST TRASH AWAKENED / Chapter 5 / 5

Chapter 5 - The Dawn of a New Dynasty and the Healing of the Broken Past

Three days had passed since the catastrophic destruction of the National Awakening Stadium.

The global news networks were in a state of permanent, hysterical paralysis. Headlines screamed across every holoscreen on planet Earth: THE ANOMALY AWAKENS: WHO IS NATE RYDER?, ASHWORTH INDUSTRIES COLLAPSES UNDER FEDERAL CORRUPTION PROBES, THE BIRTH OF THE FIRST SSS-RANK GOD-TIER ENTITY IN A CENTURY.

The Ashworth corporate conglomerate had been completely dismantled within forty-eight hours. Federal investigators, armed with the encrypted financial ledgers and confession files leaked directly from Tyler’s private terminal, raided every black-market clinic, illegal blood-plasma trafficking ring, and syndicate-backed laboratory in the tri-state area.

Tyler Ashworth and his corrupt relatives were currently sitting in maximum-security federal isolation cells, facing trial for corporate murder, human trafficking, and treason against the federation.

Back in the quiet, sunlit ward of the central federal medical facility, the air no longer smelled of antiseptic and rust.

It smelled of fresh lilies, clean linen, and warm spring air.

Arthur Ryder sat propped up against a stack of soft white pillows in a private VIP recovery suite overlooking the glittering skyline of New Neo-City. The advanced federal regenerative nanites—provided directly by the high council under emergency sovereign decree—had completely purged his bloodstream of toxins, knitting his tissues back together and restoring the robust, healthy glow he hadn't possessed in a decade.

The door to the suite clicked open.

Nate walked in, wearing a clean, dark-blue jacket, carrying a small paper bag filled with his father’s favorite pastries from the old neighborhood bakery.

Arthur looked up from his bedside table, where a holoscreen was replaying footage of the stadium ruins, and smiled—a wide, proud, tearful smile that reached all the way to his eyes.

“You know, son,” Arthur chuckled softly, shaking his head as he pointed at the holoscreen. “When I told you to keep your head down and stay out of trouble at school… I didn't quite expect you to summon a literal thunderstorm and level half the downtown district.”

Nate let out a quiet, genuine laugh, pulling up a chair beside the bed and setting the pastries down. “Well, Dad, I figured subtlety was a bit overrated. Besides, the plumbing in our old apartment was driving me crazy anyway.”

Arthur reached out, his strong, steady hand gripping Nate’s shoulder. The tremors were completely gone.

“You did all of this for me,” Arthur whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “You carried the weight of the whole world on your shoulders, and you took their abuse every single day just to keep me safe.”

Nate covered his father’s hand with his own, his amber-brown eyes shining with quiet, unshakeable strength. “We’re safe now, Dad. No one will ever look down on us again. No one will ever take anything from us.”

The holoscreen on the wall flickered, displaying an official, gold-sealed summons from the Global Awakening Council, offering Nate unconditional sovereign immunity, unlimited dungeon clearance rights, and the leadership seat of the newly formed Federation Defense Vanguard.

Nate didn't even look at the official seal. He clicked the power button, plunging the screen into darkness.

Titles, ranks, and syndicates no longer mattered. The world had changed forever, but inside this room, peace had finally returned.

Nate looked out the sparkling window toward the endless, brilliant blue sky of New Neo-City, knowing that whatever storms came next, he would face them standing tall, side by side with the father he had saved.
