Chapter 5 - The Heir to the Ror Empire**

Six months later, the spring sunlight poured through the wide stained-glass windows of St. Bridget Hospital's central courtyard, turning the manicured lawn into a vibrant tapestry of emerald green and golden light.
A sleek, matte-black Cadillac Escalade idled smoothly at the front curb, its tinted windows gleaming in the afternoon sun. Several men in immaculate charcoal suits stood at respectful attention near the vehicle's doors, but the terrifying aura of criminal enterprise that had once clung to them had been replaced by the quiet, watchful dignity of a dedicated family security detail.
Dante Ror stood on the hospital steps, wearing a flawless custom-tailored suit, his posture straight and commanding. But his obsidian eyes were entirely fixed on the glass doors behind him.
The automatic doors slid open with a soft hiss.
Josie stepped out into the warm afternoon air, wearing a simple, elegant cream-colored dress that looked a thousand miles away from the frayed diner uniform she had worn on the night she first entered his mansion. Her hand was securely interlocked with Dante's large, warm palm.
Running ahead of them across the sunlit pavement was seven-year-old Toby, clutching a brand-new, perfectly engineered paper airplane—"Flight 38"—in both hands, shouting excitedly as he launched it high into the clear blue sky, watching it glide effortlessly on the warm spring breeze.
Dante looked down at Josie, the cold, ruthless mask of the underworld permanently replaced by a deep, unwavering warmth that belonged to her and her alone.
"The medical board's final report came in this morning," Dante murmured softly, his thumb gently stroking the back of her hand. "Toby's latest platelet counts are completely stable. The specialist says he's officially in full remission."
Tears of pure, unadulterated relief welled up in Josie’s eyes as she leaned her head against Dante's broad shoulder, watching her son chase his paper airplane across the grass.
"I still can't believe it," Josie whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "After everything... after all the doctors said about you, after all the women who walked away because they thought you were broken..."
Dante stopped walking, gently pulling her to a halt on the stone steps. He reached up, his long, warm fingers cupping her chin, forcing her to look up into his dark, devoted eyes.
"They were looking for an heir to a dynasty of blood and fear," Dante said, his voice ringing with absolute, unshakable conviction. "They wanted a cold symbol of power. But you didn't care about my empire, my money, or my bloodline. You walked into my dark house, looked straight into my eyes without fear, and saved my life when no one else dared."
He leaned down and kissed her softly, tenderly, right there in the warm spring sunlight as the city traffic hummed around them.

"Every high-society woman in the city rejected me because they thought I was infertile, incapable of building a real family," Dante whispered against her lips, a rare, brilliant smile breaking across his chiseled face. "They were fools. Because the moment you walked through my doors, you didn't just heal my wounds—you gave me a son, a home, and a future I never dreamed I deserved. We are a family now, Josie. Forever."
Josie smiled, wiping a happy tear from her cheek, and intertwined her fingers tightly with his as they walked forward together into the brilliant, sunlit future they had forged with their own hands.
